I spent my June 22 Saturday, taking Senior pictures of Mikayla Wilson. It was more of a destination photo shoot for Senior pictures, starting in Spearfish, going to Whitewood, Sturgis, and ending in Rapid City, SD. I hope she enjoys her photos. HEY! If you ever get to Rapid City, stop at Art Alley, it is amazing!

So, this past weekend, (June 1st, 2013), I ventured into the world of HDR photography. I still have a lot to learn, but I'm on my way, and very excited about experimenting with it. I have to try not to "overdo" it, and HDR everything I see, but I'm willing to try a few things.

I was searching for the town of Canning, SD, and was disappointed to not find any old buildings remaining, just a few more modern houses. So, I hauled down 1806 in search of a little white church on the prairie that I had driven by many times, but failed to stop and snap an image. So I found it. It's disappointing to find vandalism on old buildings and churches, why can't people respect history, other persons property? Fail to understand that I guess.
It was a good ending of an afternoon that started out wrong.

We took advantage of the free fishing weekend here in South Dakota, and it was a very beautiful day. Storms were scheduled to pop up later in the afternoon, and mother nature did not disappoint us. I caught one fish, my husband snagged four, which is pretty good for such a big Black Hills Lake. Thank you South Dakota for the free weekend.

On Sunday April 28th, 2013, my husband and I decided to go on a different trail we've never been on. We started at the Trail head located at Silver City, and what a beautiful trail. The pine beetles have done their job on the trees around there, but it is still a beautiful, well maintained trail. We hiked 12 miles, very tired, very sore, but very well worth it!

I've thought about having a website, people have asked if I sell pictures, well, now I do. I hope you find something you would like to see in your home, office or a gift for someone. As I add pictures, I will blog about them. But for now, I will just put on what I have accumulated through the years.
